After all, Microsoft Word is just one more format like Apple Pages or anything else proprietary. People want interconnectedness between devices, platforms, and computers, and Google was the first to specialize in digital storage. Eventually, Google will displace the desktop, and desktops will become less important anyway as people shift to mobile devices. People have also resorted to storing files in their e-mail inboxes as attachments, but this method is insufficient because there is no way to change the files online, and they are in one particular format that you have to download and work on a computer that has that particular software installed.
Luckily, Internet-based, cloud-based, web-focused storage is the way of the future so that a businessman in Korea can have as much facility when he travels to the United States and participates in business as he did on his home computer at home. Storing online has many advantages. You will no longer have to fear that your content may disappear, get stolen, or leak from your home computer. Dedicated servers online from third-party companies are the most capable reservoirs to hold your data because their companies at stake. You have nothing to lose if your data is lost, besides your data. There are no monetary consequences, liability, or inherent problems in your losing your data.
